Local Attractions
Zante or Zakynthos is an island situated off the coast in the Ionian Sea in Greece. Turquoise waters and white sand beaches are what make this island so special.
Just off the south-west tip of mainland Greece, Zante is a glimmering Ionian jewel, where families come to relax, clubbers come to dance and sea turtles come to nest. Coves of curving azure water and sun-speckled sand are where you'll want to spend all your days. After a resort with a lively vibe? Laganas is a neon-lit playground for party goers.
Things to do must include exploring Ship Wreck Cove, this little paradise is accessible only by boat, bring some rum for the journey and you’ll nail the necessary pirate vibes. Potentially the most photographed spot in Greece. If you want some amazing cocktails by the beach, head to Cool Peppers where the food is just as good as the views. Swim / snorkel / dive with Turtles, the bay of Laganas is a breeding ground for the endangered Loggerhead turtles. Plan a visit to Xigia Beach an incredibly scenic and secluded cove, the water is beautiful and there’s even a sulfur hot spring here. If you want culture consider visiting the old ruins of the Venetian Castle. Make sure you go to Zante Town with it's own local flare, there are numerous restaurants here, a few pedestrian-only streets, and a beautiful seafront promenade that faces a natural harbour filled with parked ferries, fishing boats and sailboats.
